Naga City, December 3, 2024. — The launch of the Xavier Batchmates Foundation (XBFI) and the Batchmates Application at Xavier Hall, Ateneo de Naga University, marked a new beginning filled with hope and opportunity. The event brought people together to celebrate generosity, teamwork, and a shared commitment to education.A Celebration Rooted in Gratitude and ServiceThe event started with an Opening Mass led by Fr. Aristotle C. Dy, SJ, setting the tone for a celebration filled with faith and gratitude. During the mass, school supplies that will be donated to students were blessed, symbolizing XBFI's mission to uplift lives through education and compassion. After the mass, participants proceeded to register and enter Xavier Hall for the main program and the launching ceremony.Honoring the Journey and the People Behind ItThe program opened with speeches that reflected on the humble beginnings of the Foundation and the people whose care and guidance inspired its creation. Evelyn B. Amaro, Fr. Joel E. Tabora, Fr. Aristotle C. Dy, SJ, Ryan Labrador, and Paolo Canapi shared heartfelt messages of gratitude and hope.Fr. Joel E. Tabora, SJ, who served as the university president during Ryan’s college years, played a significant role in shaping the lives of Ryan and his fellow dormers. Along with him, Ms. Evelyn B. Amaro (also known as Ma’am Belen) also looked after the dormers and became a trusted and nurturing presence throughout their student life.Now a distinguished CEO, Ryan Labrador expressed his deep gratitude to those who guided him and shared how these experiences inspired him to give back to the community. His desire to help others, starting with his alma mater, Ateneo de Naga University, led to the creation of XBFI — a lasting symbol of appreciation and generosity.Fr. Aristotle C. Dy, SJ, the current university president, also shared his message of encouragement and expressed the school’s full support for the Foundation’s mission to continue providing opportunities for deserving students.To represent the new generation of scholars, Paolo Canapi, one of the foundation’s most recent graduates who completed his undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Science Civil Engineering, also gave an inspiring speech. He shared his story as a beneficiary of the scholarship program and expressed his heartfelt thanks to XBFI, the university, and its supporters for helping him and many others achieve their dreams.A Partnership for a Brighter FutureA key moment of the event was the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between XBFI and Ateneo de Naga University. This made ADNU the first official academic partner of XBFI. Ryan Labrador, Chairman of the Board, and Fr. Aristotle, University President for SY 2024 to 2025, signed the agreement.This partnership represents a shared commitment to promoting education and creating more sustainable scholarship opportunities.Introducing the Batchmates AppDevelopers from Revlv Solutions Inc. showcased a live demonstration of the new Batchmates Application. Ricardo Pascua Jr. (Chief Technology Officer) and Daryl Dayrit (Lead Mobile Developer) presented the app’s features and how it ensures transparency in the donation process.A real-time donation dashboard was shown on the screen, displaying live updates of incoming contributions to assure donors that their support is being properly tracked.Strengthening Support Through GenerosityTwo generous donations were awarded in support of the foundation’s mission. Revlv Solutions Inc. presented a cheque worth ₱1,000,000 to the Kristong Hari Scholars / ADNU College Scholarship Fund. Ryan Labrador also handed over another ₱1,000,000 cheque to the ADNU College Scholarship Fund.Both contributions will help strengthen scholarship programs and open more doors for future scholars.Empowering Dreams Through Technology and CompassionThe launch of XBFI and Batchamates App marks an important step in combining technology with philanthropy.
